I selected "Ogre Battle"
from 2nd album "Queen II"
of Queen released in 1974.


さて。クイーンが1974年にリリースした
2ndアルバム『Queen II』から 俗に " Black Side " と呼ばれる
B面のオープニングトラック「Ogre Battle」をチョイス♪

このアルバムって A面をブライアン・メイ氏らの作品が
そしてB面には フレディのライティング作品が並ぶという
まぁ 実に珍しい区分けが成されたコンセプトアルバムなんですけど

そのフレディの一発目が このなんとも形容し難いジャンルの
ニューウェイブ系ロックナンバーなんですね。

繋ぎを無視したような各種エフェクトがバリバリにインサートされ
尖がったリフに 後年開花するオペラちっくなコーラス☆

もう何だか分からない・・・
けど こんな曲を1974年に作ったということは
紛れもなく天才であることは間違いないでしょうね☆
